So Tony has been and is staying sick. He has some lung issues. I guess his premature birth is partly to blame. He's always had problems. He had RSV his first winter, then the croup like 4 times last year. This year pnemonia and adnovirus (sp on both). It seems he has some sort of sickness induced asthma and we'll be using a nebulizer and inhaler through spring. Any of our AVID readers have any suggestions on anything that can help? We're gonna start taking him swimming this summer i think, to build up lung strength. The doctors already said we're going to have to go through this type of stuff every winter. bleh.
BUT on a lighter note he is now OFF the oxygen and is doing very well. If only we could get him off the anti-biotics that are killing his poor little baby stomach. We'll also take suggestions on that.
peace,
The Mrs.

Bi-Lingual Babies
So, I speak spanish. Not fluently but pretty good. Good enough to practice law in spanish. I never thought much about my kids speaking spanish until lately, for a few reasons. There's a daycare at my job for kids of employees and all the little kids there speak spanish. Also, my kids hear me speak spanish to them and they can't respond or don't understand.
Lately Eli has taken to throwing a rolled "r" into words and then saying, "look mami i speak spanish" i.e. "water-rrr" is water in spanish or "thrrrree" is three in spanish. It's cute but kind of sad because it is a part of his culture and everyone in his direct lineage speaks spanish (except for my mom).
So now i'm wondering if i'm doing my kids a disservice (sp) by not teaching them spanish now or should i leave it up to them if they want to learn later? knowing spanish has helped me in life so i'm sure it will help them but i didn't start speaking until i was in my 20's. and how do i make the switch now? I'm thinking i should change their daycare and start bringing them here because they'll be surrounded by it.

ZOO!

So, in an effort to tire our children out...and spend more time with them (yeah...) we took them to the zoo last weekend. And we had a blast! Tony was by far the most entertaining and entertained. He loved the turtles. Eli was going about a million miles a minute and wouldn't slow down. And Desi's still little. I'm excited to take them back when the giant tortoises are out of hibernation! I've been thinking about buying a season pass. It could be worth it. Thoughts?
Also, I think we're going to add a video component to the blog. We purchased one of those hip little flip type camera's for our grown up trip to Guatemala and used it at the zoo. Turns out it's pretty awesome and we got some great video of the kids at the zoo.
This also has inspired me to think of other things to do with the kids. Suggestions? We spend the whole afternoon at the zoo then we took the kids out for sushi. The whole day was awesome and I really want to find more stuff like that to do with them.

That's Buddy with his chopsticks. He was determined to learn how to use them. Pretty impressive for a 2 year old.

hi everyone. im MrPERPHECT. im 26, a young black male, a full time student with the hopes of being a doctor... in a bi-racial relationship. MRS. PERPHECT is mexican and im black. we have 3 children; 2 from her previous marriage and 1 of our own. our relstionship is strong and is fun. we pride ourselves on honesty and laughing. we ATTEMPT to teach our children the same.
Eli is 4 and the oldest. he is the child that every parent wants.. he is patient, fun and has the capabailty to learn at any rate. me and eli have a very interesting relationship...he has slowly gained an awesome adult sense of humor and one of the few dreams of mine is the he holds it forever. i think he is the funnuest kid on the planet.
Buddy is is 2 and an asshole. he is completely stubbern and his attitude is always contingent on how you treat him. he is the one that you never have to worry about being honest because his emtions are worn directly on his sleve along with snot and tears of anger. me and him have an awesome relationship because i know how to approach him.
It/Peanut/Des is 7months and he is the funnest child you could ever possibly meet. hes fun and an absolute pleasure to be around...he is one of those kids that makes you want to be around him. he is a perfect mix of his brothers.
I personally wanted this blog to have a written truth of what happens in a family of 5. so this introduction is to give you a run down of what you will be reading in the months to come.

Intro from the Mrs.
Hello! We had discussed starting a blog about our wonderful, unique family..and here it is. We are 2 young parents of 3 little boys. We wanted a chance and a place to share some stories with people and have fun!
A little intro about us (from my perspective) we are a mixed family in every sense of the word. I have two boys from a previous marriage that the Mr. and I raise as our own and we have one little new baby together.
Our boys are Eli he's 4, Tony (Buddy) is 2 and little Desmond is 7 months.
I'm a lawyer at a non-profit organization that works with victims of domestic violence and the Mr. is a student heading toward Med school.
We have been together the better part of 2 years and it has been a crazy ride up to this point.
Thanks for reading,
Mrs. Perphect
